The reason I chose to study at CIA (Cebu International Academy) in the Philippines was because I wanted to improve my English skills intensively in a short period of time. In reality, the days I spent at this school far exceeded my expectations. Not only did it boost my motivation to study English, but it also helped me clarify my vision for the future.

Classes at CIA follow a very intensive schedule with around 10 lessons per day, mainly consisting of one-on-one sessions. What I found most effective was how the teachers accurately identified my weaknesses and tailored their approach to address them. Personally, I had difficulties with listening and speaking, but through daily practical conversations, I gradually gained more confidence. I learned the importance of speaking without fear of making mistakes, and now, thinking and responding in English has become more natural to me.

At CIA, I was also able to interact with students from various countries. This helped me realize that English is not just an academic subject but a vital communication tool. I had the opportunity to have discussions with students from Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam, and more, learning to express myself in English while respecting different cultures and values. Beyond language skills, the biggest takeaway from my time at CIA was gaining intercultural understanding and a global mindset.

I hope to use the English skills and experiences I gained at CIA for my next challenge: a working holiday in Australia. Through the working holiday program, I want to further enhance my practical English ability by living and working in a real English-speaking environment. I also hope to learn how to work in a global setting and build meaningful relationships with people from different backgrounds. The confidence I gained in using English at CIA will definitely be a strong asset during my time in Australia.

For anyone who is seriously considering studying English, I would wholeheartedly recommend CIA. Compared to studying in Western countries, a language course in the Philippines is much more affordable while still offering high-quality education. I was a bit anxious at first, but now I can confidently say, “I wish I had come here earlier.” What you gain from studying abroad is not just language skills. It’s new perspectives, personal growth, and friendships that span the globe. All of these are irreplaceable assets in my life.

Moving forward, I want to continue using English to connect with people from all over the world and take on new challenges. Studying at CIA was the first big step toward that goal. Now, I am excited to move on to the next stage—my working holiday in Australia—where I hope to grow even more as a person.
