Deciding to study abroad wasn't easy. I was older and had already established myself in my career. Going there just to learn English felt like too much of a risk. Not only would I have to quit my job, but living with other people at the academy wasn't easy. Having lived alone for several years, it felt even more daunting. When I first arrived, I couldn't speak a word of English, so I knew I had to focus solely on studying. I couldn't say a word even when the students I came with at the airport approached me. The level test made me even more discouraged. I had absolutely no knowledge of speaking and writing, so I worried about whether I could do well in class. However, there were more students like me than I expected, and the conversation flowed more smoothly than I expected, and I was able to keep up with the class. And the biggest advantage was the opportunity to mingle with people from other countries. This is truly a challenging experience. People from other countries already have their own unique bonds, so it's not easy to become close with them when traveling. But meeting international friends at the academy makes it much easier, and since we spend most of our time together, the intimacy is indescribable. At my age, I thought it was too late, but I'm glad I decided to come. The biggest reason is that I can speak English. The rest depends on how you perform, so I hope you study hard and achieve your desired level.
