When I first planned to study English in the Philippines from Korea, I set out with the sole intention of learning English. However, upon arriving, I was truly amazed by the variety of experiences I'd had. Among them, I occasionally went to a pojangmacha (food stall) with a live band, and it was the best I'd ever visited with my friends. I knew Filipinos were talented singers, but hearing them in person made it even more apparent and made for a truly enjoyable time. As someone who loves the ocean, I was thrilled that the academy was located near the ocean, allowing me to enjoy the blue sea and sky from my veranda. I also made friends from a wide variety of nationalities, including Japanese and Thai roommates, as well as Chinese, Taiwanese, Hong Kongers, and Saudi Arabians. This allowed me to adapt to a variety of accents, not just culturally, but also conversationally. When I first came here, I was incredibly scared of speaking English, wasn't very good at it, and my grades were really low. But now, I can have a full conversation in English. I also really appreciate the fact that the weekly IELTS mock exams help me adapt to the real test, and my grades are steadily improving, so I'm very happy.
